Patrick Fung (Chair)

Rev. Dr. Patrick Fung was born in Hong Kong and trained as a physician in Australia and is an ordained minister.  Patrick and his wife, Jennie, previously served as medical missionaries in South Asia. Patrick is currently serving as the General Director of OMF International (formerly the China Inland Mission founded by Hudson Taylor).  Patrick is regularly involved in missionary training and preaching ministry.  Patrick was the Bible expositor for Urbana 2015, plenary speaker for the Cape Town 2010 Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization and one of the Keswick Bible conference speakers in the UK in 2011 & 2015.   

 

 

 

David serves as the Chair of Arise Asia 2023 and Asia 2021/22 Congress.  He is the Regional Director for the Lausanne Movement in East Asia and serves on the program committee of the Lausanne IV World Congress in Seoul 2024. After several years of pastoral ministry, David and Jackie joined OMF in 2001 to reach urban students and young people in East Asia.  David and Jackie are with OMF but now serve the broader China, Asian church and global missions world. David previously served as the Director of the Christy Wilson Center for World Missions and as an Adjunct Professor of Church Planting and Missions at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  He also teaches at the China Evangelical Seminary in Taiwan.  David graduated from Gordon-Conwell Seminary (MDIV) and Peking University (MBA) and is completing his PhD at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies.

 

 

 

Lindsay Brown

Lindsay Brown was born in Wales and studied history at Oxford before going to Paris to study theology. He has been involved in student work for 30 years, completing 4 years as a student staff worker in Wales before becoming European Regional secretary of IFES for 9 years and then serving as General Secretary of IFES for 16 years. After acting as the international director for the Lausanne Movement for many years, he is currently serving as evangelist-at-large for the UK student movement and for IFES generally. He travels all across Europe speaking at student and church conferences and at student mission week events.  He is married to Ann and they have one grown-up son.

 

 

 

Paul Borthwick

Paul Borthwick, together with his wife, Christie, serves on the staff of Development Associates International, a training group dedicated to the character and ministry development of leaders in the under-resourced world. In 2015, Paul concluded over 30 years of teaching at Gordon College in the area of Global Christianity.  He also served as an Urbana/Missions Associate with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship from 1999-2015.  

Paul has written several books, which can be found here.  He & Christie have been married since 1979 and live in Lexington, Massachusetts.  They are members of Grace Chapel. Their ministry (more in-depth here) is concentrated on three primary areas: 1) Leadership Development; 2) Influencing the Next Generation Towards World Missions, and 3) Mobilizing the Church for Outreach & Cross-Cultural Ministry.

 

 

Dick Yue 

Dick Yue is the Philip J. Solondz Professor of Engineering, and Professor of Mechanical & Ocean Engineering at MIT. He has all his degrees (S.B., S.M. and Sc.D.) from MIT and has been a faculty there since 1983. His research and teaching are in marine hydrodynamics with applications to coastal and ocean engineering. He has authored/co-authored more than two hundred archival papers and a two-volume textbook on wave hydrodynamics.

Dick was the MIT Associate Dean of Engineering from 1999-2007 during which time he was the originator of the MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) concept and played a major role in its implementation by MIT. OCW laid the foundation for today's Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). In 2008, Dick received the prestigious MIT Gordon Y. Billard Award for services of outstanding merit to the Institute.  Dick and his wife, Eva, have four children. They reside in Weston, Massachusetts.

 

Gordon Wang 

Gordon is a native of California and lives in the San Francisco bay area. He is a graduate from the University of California, Davis and the University of California, Berkeley MBA program. He is a registered CPA in California. Gordon is currently the CEO/CFO for Francis Ford Coppola Presents LLC, with oversight over winery, film productions, hospitality locations in four countries, and various other business projects. He has attended Christian Layman Church in Oakland for over twenty years, serving in the missions ministry, prayer ministry, and board of directors at various times.
